Equipment

Types of Iron

Ancast Industries works with a broad range of iron grades to create components of varying mechanical properties. We have a dedicated iron lab to ensure the parts we deliver meet our clients’ required specifications.

Our engineering team can discuss with clients the different grades of iron, weighing their strengths, weaknesses, and common applications to help them determine the ideal iron grade for their components.

Certifications

Ancast Industries is ASTM A536 certified for common iron grades. We also maintain an ISO 9001:2015 certified quality management system to ensure our processes deliver consistently high-quality components.

Weights and Sizes

Ancast Industries’ molding machines allow us to create various sizes and weights of iron. We can produce parts with the following dimensions and weights using our equipment:

  • Our two Sinto 24 inch x 20 inch molding machines can produce parts up to 35 lbs.
  • Our Hunter 24 inch x 20 inch molding machine can produce parts up to 65 lbs.
  • Our Hunter 32 inch x 30 inch molding machine can produce parts up to 225 lbs.

Volume and Capacity

Ancast Industries’ capacity allows us to fulfill up to medium-volume orders. Our equipment can produce the following volumes of iron components:

  • Sinto 20×16 molding line: between 1,000 and 50,000 pieces per year

Iron Casting Services

Iron Casting Services From Ancast Industries

Casting can produce components as a single piece, regardless of the level of complexity. As a result, the cast parts are strong and easy to assemble into the final product. Compared to machining, casting delivers high dimensional accuracy at a lower cost per part. It can also create complex internal geometries and features not possible with machining.

Not all foundries have the capabilities or desire to produce parts of high complexity, but at Ancast Industries, we pride ourselves on our experience and expertise in delivering complex iron castings. Our engineering team, equipment operators, and quality team are standing by to help you achieve your project’s unique goals. Request a quote to get started.
